ARGENTINA: Updating retirement assets and the application of law 27609

THE APPLICATION OF LAW 27609 ON THE UPDATING OF RETIREMENT ASSETS FOR THE QUARTER DECEMBER 2022, JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2023, WITHOUT A PREVIOUS EMERGENCY INCREASE DUE TO THE ACCUMULATED LOSS OF PURCHASING POWER, EMPHASIZES THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT'S POLICIES AND THE APPLICATION OF THE QUARTERLY ADJUSTMENTS AND CONTROLS AGREED ON BY THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT WITH THE IMF, AN ORGANISM OF THE LARGE DOMINANT ECONOMIC GROUPS OF THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM, FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE ILLEGITIMATE, ILLEGAL AND FRAUDULENT FOREIGN DEBT, AS WE HAVE BEEN DENOUNCING.

 

With the 15.6% increase, the Minimum Retirement Out-of-Pocket Credit will be $48,612.- plus a monthly bonus of $10,000.- for the quarter. A new and arbitrary bonus that will gradually decrease to $7,000.- for retirements that reach the figure of two minimum assets and that does not enter the Christmas bonus. With this increase, those who receive a little more than the minimum amount lose 14% of their purchasing power. The intention is clear, they want to transform pensions and pensions into a subsidy for old age, flattening the pyramid.

The retirement assets of 85% of all retired workers and pensioners do not cover the Basic Basket of an Elderly Person, prepared by the Ombudsman for the Elderly of CABA, of $ 151,478.- in October, thus losing the conditions to live with autonomy and dignity in this stage of life.

An emergency increase is essential, so that there is no retirement below the Basic Basket of an Elderly Person, and proportional in all scales.

 

WE CONTINUE THE FIGHT FOR THE FIVE POINTS CONTAINED IN THE THREE BILLS THAT WE WILL AGAIN PRESENT IN THE NATION'S CHAMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR A TRUE PAYGO, ASSISTED, INTERGENERATIONAL PUBLIC PENSION SYSTEM AND A HEALTH AND HOUSING SYSTEM THAT ENABLE CURRENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS TO LIVE WITH AUTONOMY AND DIGNITY

THE FIVE BASIC POINTS agreed upon by a group of organizations and contained in our three bills:

 1) Minimum retirement not less than the Basic Basket for Older Adults calculated by the Ombudsman for the Elderly of CABA.

 2) 82% mobile on the salary of the active worker in the same position, trade or function and the recomposition according to the work history of each worker.

 3) Creation of the National Institute of Social Welfare, for the direction and administration of the pension funds, as established by the National Constitution, by its stakeholders who are the representatives of the active workers, retirees and the participation of the Condition.

 4) Normalization of the INSSJP-PAMI- End of the Intervention.

 The government and administration of the Institute will be in charge of a Board of Directors made up of eleven members: seven directors representing retirees and pensioners, two representing active workers and two representing the State, appointed by the Power

 5) Loan housing for retirees and pensioners in a housing emergency situation.
