The periodic meeting of the leadership of this WFTU UIS was successfully held, attended by 3 comrades from Greece, 5 from Spain, 3 from Colombia, 2 from Burkina Faso, and one from: Ecuador, Cuba, Mexico, Honduras, Russia, India, Cambodia, Algeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, India, USA, and Argentina.
Comrades from India, Cyprus, Gabon, Guinea, Peru, Uruguay, the United States, Panama, and Chile excused their presence.
The meeting was attended by 6 interpreters from Greek, English, French and Spanish.
The meeting was opened by Comrade Dimos Kompouris, President of the UIS.
All the persons present intervened except one from Colombia and one from Cambodia, approving the report previously sent in writing by the Secretary General, comrade Quim Boix.
Important information was provided on the struggle of the PP and JJ in each country.
Each person in charge of the Directorate considers it necessary to have representatives in each Region, as they were elected for America in Cuba. The model shows its effectiveness in the task developed by Leonor Meza (Coordinator for Central America) for October 1. It will improve communication and organization.
The success of strikes and demonstrations in Greece, France and other countries is discussed.
It is recommended to draw strength to fight against what the leaders of capitalism are preparing: several comrades warn about the crisis of capitalism that forces it to launch itself for public funds and the exploitation of workers. In this line are the projects of privatization of pensions around the world and public services in general.
The Secretary-General proposes the next meeting for 2 February 2023. Projects for 8 March and 1 May will be presented at the meeting.
